Artist’s Statement
There isn’t any other joy quite like owning a well made object. To produce a piece like that takes a lot of thought, time and effort. An idea is born and starts evolving partly on paper but mostly in the making. That’s how the creative process becomes an adventure for me. Using traditional materials (gold, silver, gemstones) to build simple, modern designs. My main motivator is to develop a piece of jewellery that people truly love.

Biography
Professionally trained in my home country of Hungary, my goldsmith career truly began after immigrating to Canada in 1986. Working in Vancouver in all areas of the jewellery trade at sophisticated jewellery companies has taught me a lot about the importance of fine details. For the past 14 years, I have been partner in Rudi Peet Goldsmith, Canmore and have worked in collaboration with several Banff-Canmore designers. It has been a great experience that helped me become the designer and goldsmith I am today. In May 2007 I started Susan Kun Jewellery Design.
