Artist’s Statement
Playing with fire is what I do. I make tine pieces, spirals and patterns, intertwining silver wires, trying different combinations until I find an equilibrated composition. Knowing when to stop is the trick; in contact with the flame, everything gets fused and there is no going back.
I like to work with abstract shapes, free forms and notions of presence versus absence. Inspiration finds me wherever I look. I see my work as a weave of cultures just as my hometown is.
